Thank you London, Nick Smart, John Daversa, and all my new friends from the Royal Academy of Music What a life changing experience it was to record Kenny Wheeler’s “Lost Scores” at Abbey Road Studios this past week. I feel so lucky to be part of this special project and cannot wait for all to hear the hard work Nick Smart and the rest of the group has put into it. Moments like these help to remind me what I love most about music, and for that I am beyond grateful.

Stiltsville (c. Eric Law) In the early 1930s, at the end of the prohibition era, a fisherman by the name of "Crawfish" Eddie Walker built a shack on stilts in Miami's Biscayne Bay where by day he sold bait and tackle and the occasional crawfish chowder, while by night he unofficially ran an underground rum-running and illegal gambling ring. This marked the origins of a floating neighborhood that would become a hotbed for those looking to operate without interference with the law. By 1960, Stiltsville consisted of 27 residential and commercial buildings, including night-clubs. Places such as the Quarterdeck Club, Calvert Club, and Bikini Club were among the most popular in the neighborhood and attracted well-connected and well-off Miamian's to Stiltsville to relax, socialize, and party. Because of fires and hurricanes that have ravaged the area over the years, only 6 structures remain standing, protected as part of Biscayne National Park. When presented with the idea of composing a piece for an important Miami landmark, I knew I wanted to attempt to capture a portrait of Stiltsville with all of it's debauchery and lawlessness, and want to thank @johndaversa for giving me the opportunity to compose it and the rest of the Frost Jazz Orchestra for performing it just how I envisioned it sounding. “The Final Moment” - Eric Law Just wrapped up my first year of grad school here at the University of Miami! One of the highlights of the semester for me was composing this song for @sguerramusic’s class and performing it with the Frost Concert Jazz Band. It’s such an honor to be able to rehearse and perform with such a talented group of musicians and some great people. Thanks to them for bringing my music to life! Had an absolutely life-changing last month touring around some of the United Kingdom’s most beautiful castles, manors, and cities with @michaelbuble!

Very honored and excited to have the opportunity to join @michaelbuble on tour in the UK for the next month! It’s been a great first few days of rehearsals and now I’m looking forward to going on the road with some of the most incredible musicians I’ve ever been around!

It’s impossible to come up with enough words to describe how special my senior year at Michigan State has been. In the last month alone I presented my senior recital, won the 2022 Jack Rudin Championship, and graduated, all while doing it alongside the friends and mentors who have become a part of my family over the last four years. When I first got to East Lansing people kept telling me “welcome home”, and through my time here I have come to realize just how special a place MSU is and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity I was given to attend such a school. Go Green💚

I’m very excited to announce my Senior Recital on Sunday, April 3rd at 8:00pm! Please join me in-person or via Facebook live to celebrate the culmination of my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, where I will be presenting an hour-long program of some of my favorite music with some of my favorite musicians. Music will include compositions by myself, Mary Lou Williams, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Dorham, and Sam Jones.
